In this article, I will show you how to launch an EC2 instance in a step-by-step guide using the AWS Console, along with all key configurations.
๐ฅ๏ธ Step 1: Go to EC2
Login to your AWS Management Console, then navigate to EC2 from the services menu.
๐ฆ Step 2: Click on โInstancesโ
Then click on the Launch Instances button to start the setup.
โ๏ธ Step 3: Configure Basic Settings
Youโll see a screen like this:
Name: Give your instance a name (e.g., my-dev-server)
OS Image: Choose Ubuntu
๐ Step 4: Create a Key Pair
Click Create new key pair to generate SSH credentials.
Fill in the following:
Key pair name: my-ec2-key
Key pair type: RSA
Private key file format: .ppk (for PuTTY) or .pem (for OpenSSH)
๐ Step 5: Set Up Security Group
Select the following options for easy setup:

Allow SSH (for terminal access)

Allow HTTPS (for secure web traffic)

Allow HTTP (for web access)
โ ๏ธ Make sure your IP is allowed under SSH for security reasons.
๐พ Step 6: Choose Storage
Increase the volume if needed. You can go up to 30 GB under the AWS Free Tier.
๐ Step 7: Launch the Instance
Now hit the Launch Instance button. Wait for AWS to provision your instance.
